Psychosis Treatment

Psychosis Treatment

Psychosis is a mental health condition where an individual loses touch with reality. This may involve hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t there), delusions (strong beliefs not based in reality), confused thinking, and disrupted perception. At Soundminds, we understand how frightening and isolating psychosis can be — not just for the individual, but also for their family and loved ones.

Led by Ms. Sadiya Qureshi, a compassionate and experienced Consultant Psychologist, our Psychosis Treatment program is designed to provide structured, empathetic, and effective support. Our goal is to help individuals regain clarity, functionality, and stability in their everyday lives.

Early intervention is key. The sooner psychosis is identified and treated, the better the long-term outcomes. At Soundminds, we offer individualized therapy plans that combine evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), psychoeducation, and family support. We also work in coordination with psychiatrists (when needed) for medication management as part of a holistic care approach.

Our sessions focus on helping individuals:

  • Distinguish between reality and hallucinations/delusions

  • Manage stress and anxiety triggers

  • Improve communication and social skills

  • Strengthen self-awareness and confidence

  • Understand and accept their diagnosis without stigma

We believe that recovery is not just about managing symptoms but about restoring dignity, independence, and quality of life. Each therapy session is conducted in a non-judgmental, secure environment where clients feel respected and supported.

Families play a vital role in recovery. We involve family members through counselling and education, helping them better understand psychosis and how to provide the right kind of support without overwhelming the individual.

Whether the psychosis is linked to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, trauma, or substance use, our therapeutic approach is personalized and progress-driven, focusing on gradual improvement and long-term wellness.

At Soundminds, we believe there is hope and healing for every mind. With the right support, individuals living with psychosis can learn to manage their condition, reduce relapse, and lead fulfilling lives.
